It has continued to be a hard task for English Premier League club West Ham United but they have remained stubborn about holding on to their top-rated midfield star Declan Rice. The England international midfielder is a reported transfer target for some of the big boys in the English Premier League, including Chelsea, Manchester United, and Manchester City. Chelsea are by far the most interested club and they have shown that after they went ahead of their rivals to make an official bid for the player weeks ago. The Blues have been chasing Rice for a long time and first showed their interest when Frank Lampard was still the manager.

Lampard may no longer be at the club, but that has not stopped them from being interested in wanting to sign Rice. The midfielder reportedly wants to seal a move away from Upton Park but is not ready to hand in a transfer request or force a move. West Ham got a first official bid from Chelsea but they indicated clearly that they are not open to listen to offers or accept any kind of bid for their prized asset.

West Ham manager David Moyes has said that he is keen to keep hold of one of his star players and will be one of the happiest persons on earth if the summer transfer window closes and the player is still at the club. Although West Ham will continue to reject any new offers for the player, Chelsea are expected to return with another bid for the Hammers star in the coming days as they continue to try and lure him away from the London Stadium.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is keen to add Rice to his squad and has told the Chelsea board to continue trying to sign him this summer as they also continue to try to sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund as well.
