Solksjær has been very unlucky since taking up the managerial role at United and has not gone past any of the last five semi-finals he has gotten to in that time frame. He perceives that it’s going to be a tough fixture and has admitted that even though they will respect their opponents, they will ensure that they do not underrate them.

The manager rested striker Edinson Cavani and midfielder Paul Pogba when they took on Leeds United at Elland Road in the Premier League last Sunday as he wanted the two players to have fresh legs heading into this all-crucial fixture. However, even though Cavani is not assured of a start, Pogba could return to the starting XI and will be expected to help the Red Devils secure a win on Thursday night.

A convincing win for United at Old Trafford and a decent performance away from home in Italy would prove to be enough to get to the final where they will have to face with Arsenal or Villarreal who will both play the second semi-final fixture.

Spanish goalkeeper David De Gea is expected to continue his run of appearances in the Europa League and Solksjær will field his best players on the night as he looks to go all the way into the final and possibly conquering the competition.
