COUFAL DOUBTFUL FOR LONDON DERBY

West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal is a big doubt for the visit of London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this weekend. The two clubs meet in a London Derby clash billed for the London Stadium on Sunday afternoon and Czech international right-back Coufal could miss out due to an hamstring problem.

Coufalhas missed the last two West Ham United games in all competitions as a result of the hamstring injury. On Sunday, Hammers boss David Moyes told reporters that the defenderpicked up the aforementioned injury during the Carabao Cup third round tie with hosts Manchester United last month and that he has been carrying it for a few weeks.Coufal played the whole game as the Hammerssaw off Manchester United in the last 32 of the Carabao Cup and he has featured regularly for his team until the Everton game last weekend. Argentine international Manuel Lanzini scored the only goal of the game as West Ham United secured a first away win over Manchester United in fourteen (14) years via 1-0 scoreline.

Czech player Coufal missed his first league game of the season against Everton on Sunday as a result of the hamstring injury mentioned earlier. Ben Johnson deputised for him at right-back as the Hammers secured an impressive 1-0 win at the home of the Toffees. West Ham United scored the lone goal of the match through Nigerian-born Italian defender Angelo Ogbonna. The away win over Everton moved West Ham United above their opponents and into the top seven on the Premier League standings.

Coufal has been left out of the West Ham United squad for the Europa League games this season as manager David Moyes rest a lot of his big hitters for Premier League football. However, he missed the Europa League win over Belgian team Genk in Group H due to injury as he was not available for selection like the other two Group H games which preceded the Genk match at the London Stadium on Thursday.
